Quartz

Quartz slabs are a combination of crushed quartz, resins and coloring agents. Produced under the same heat and pressure that forms volcanic rock, quartz is extremely tough, dense and pure. It is scratch resistant, heat resistant, stain resistant, strong, low maintenance and available in a wide range of colors and thicknesses. It is excellent for any surface in the home as it is elegant, durable and low maintenance.

Cultured Marble
Cultured marble is a precise blend of polyester resin, catalyst, fillers and pigments, thoroughly mixed and placed into open molds which are coated with a clear gelcoat.  The gelcoat is especially formulated to as produce a tough, durable, non-porous and shiny surface, stain resistant and easy to maintain.

The shape of the products depends on the molds used.  The colors and veining of the finished product depend on the specific formulation and the techniques of the manufacturer/pourer.  As such, each manufacturer produces their own specific colors and finish. Due to the nature of cultured marble, there is no guarantee that the final product will match the color or graining of the sample. No two pieces are the same.

The catalyst used will cause a chemical reaction and make the resin polymerize and harden, bonding the matrix together in a hard strong mass.   After some hours of chemical curing, the products are demolded, trimmed, ground, polished and finally inspected.

Real natural marble dust is used to make cultured marble. Cultured marble belongs to the family of cast polymers.  When mixed with a liquid polyester resin, the marble dust forms an attractive and durable bathroom product. Because the resin coats all of the marble dust particles making them impervious, high quality cultured marble can withstand stains that might otherwise harm natural marble. However, extended exposure to harsh chemicals such as ammonia or bleach should be avoided because they may cause discoloration.

What are the advantages of cultured marble products?
Cultured marble products are generally coated in the mold with a clear gelcoat.  This outer layer provides the ultimate strength to the bonded martrix.  It also makes the final product water resistant, durable and resistant to chipping.  Depending on the finishing process used, the gelcoat also provides the shiny surface that adds luster to the final product.

Because the final objects are cast in mold, the installed product has minimal seams and when installed properly, using mildew resistant 100% silicone, it becomes virtually leak proof.  Tubs are cast with the deck attached to the tub bowl in one solid piece.  In residential construction, vanity tops typically have the bowl cast as an integral part of the vanity deck, avoiding potentially unsightly seams between bowl and vanity deck.  Cultured marble shower panels are typically only seamed where panels meet in the corners.

Cultured marble products are very versatile and find applications in residential construction, multi-family housing as well as commercial dwellings.  Over the past 10 years, raw materials and manufacturing techniques have improved dramatically which will allow you to enjoy your cultured marble products in their original luster for many years to come.

Cultured marble can be used to create many bathroom products. Sinks with integral tops, bathtubs, whirlpool baths, shower basins, back splashes, wall panels, etc. are all possible.

Solid Surface
Solid Surface products are manufactured with high performance resin systems such as acrylic and unsaturated polyester. A layer of acrylic modified solid surface resin mixed with polyester chips are sprayed on into a custom shaped mold. They have very high filler content and do not have gel coats. It is then chemically bonded with a mixture of calcium carbonate and a high-end dual purpose resin. When both of these processes are combined it produces a surface that far exceeds industry standards.

A design benefit of solid surface materials is their ability to be machined, though special equipment and fabrication procedures are required. They can be precisely cut and bonded to fit nearly any surface shape. Solid surface materials can also be fabricated with decorative edging Since the color goes through the product, scratches, chips and stains can be easily sanded out.
Polystone is available in over 50 stylish colors. For countertops, windowsills, vanities, wall panels, fireplace surrounds, tubs, shower bases, or furniture, Polystone use and design is limited only by your imagination.

Vanity tops
Vanity tops can be manufactured up to 12 feet long and if they are 30” or less in depth, can be made with a molded 4” backsplash.  Also available are angled tops, (with some limitations), made in one piece to fit that specially designed corner.  We offer 10 different bowl styles that can be integrated into your new vanity top.  Drop in and undermounted sinks are also available.

Bathtubs/Whirlpool Tubs
We offer seven different tub styles of which can be manufactured in cultured marble or polystone. Each tub style can be designed as a soaker tub or can have a whirlpool system installed. As a whirlpool tub, you can have 4, 6, or 8 jets installed, with the option of white, brass, chrome, brushed nickel, or oil rubbed bronze colored finish. Other tub options include front or side skirts. If room permits, we can also make a tub deck, with or without backsplashes.

Granite
Granite is a natural stone that has taken millions of years to create. Granite is an igneous rock, formed from magma cooled below the earth’s surface. There is an extensive color selection and each slab is unique. Natural granite is the most scratch resistant countertop on the market. The only materials harder are diamond, topaz and sapphire. Therefore, granite is extremely resistant to everyday normal abuse caused by objects such as knives, keys and toys. Granite is an ideal choice for both the kitchen and bathroom. Granite is naturally burn resistant, but do caution against thermal shock (going from a low temperature to a really high temperature in a short amount of time). Use good judgment in placing extremely hot pans on your countertop.

Travina®
Travina® is one of the latest developments in countertop surfacing. Travina® competes with real stone in a price range that is more affordable. Its main component is ground seashells.
